Korean Tony Soprano
I'm reading, "Memoirs of a Geisha" now and I'm chowing it like an American at a buffet table. There's a lot of talk about 'sisters,' the non-biological kind. This seems to be an Asian thing because I've heard a lot of people refer to their best friend as a 'sister' or 'brother.' As I've learned, it has a lot to do with a mentor/protege relationship. Usually, one sibling is quite older than the other. This weekend, Mr. Park told me that I'm a real good guy and then he called me his brother. I wrote earlier about Park but, for those who's memory is as wilted as my own, I'll refresh; Mr. Park was my boss Smith's English teacher. He's in his fifties, has a wife and three children. He speaks great English, good enough to keep a table of foreigners hanging on his every word. And he's very charismatic as well. He was a translator for famous American generals in the army, had a radio show, owns a school and he's the most powerful Korean I've met. He's the key for any door. Walking into a club with Park is the closest I'll ever feel to being in the mafia. So, as he uttered the word, 'brother,' I began to feel uneasy. He's been especially fond of me ever since the Saturday we drank traditional wine and told our life stories. It was an interesting day for me (his life is movie worthy) and he obviously enjoyed mine because he brings it up everytime we get together. He was holding my hand as he called me his brother. This is strange to you, but I've been here long enough to know the difference in male relationships here. They are closer in some ways and more distant in others. For instance, they hold hands, but they rarely, if ever hug. I'm honored that he bestowed this honor on me, but I'm not sure if I'm up to the task. I've learned that the younger brother is never allowed to turn down an offer from the elder to get together. Actually, the younger is supposed to pay as well and, in the kind of clubs Park goes to, that's a big concern. I work real hard and my time is sparse but I'd feel real bad saying 'no' to Park. Well, I'm scared to say 'no' to him and he works from 4pm-12pm and often wants to go out after that. This could lead to some sleepless nights but, as I'm reading in "Memoirs....," a powerful non-biological sibling is a valuable resource.

what up d, its been a while like two months couse my fucking computer has had a cold and its been fucked. i havent been able to do shit computer wise. so im back now and i have some catching up to do with tails of the great dan panoz. i will be reading up. and a quick update on the life of frio, well i got a job at auto aution called Copart. its a monster of a company and it starts at a good pay, its full time and full benefits after 90 days and a raise. its what i need at this time. job wise im doing better than ever. Ryan lamb got me the job hes been there for like 5 years. its close as hell, they opened a new yard on the corner of shales a rt. 20. they have like 75 yards across the country. Its easy and my boss is the nicest boss i have ever had, hes amazing. the jimmy is undrivable right now and i dont want to fix it couse its not worth it so i havent had ride for a couple of weeks.But my boss is looking for a new ride and says he will sell me his ride witch is a 2002 malibu for 3 G's and that's a good price, hes hooking it up + lending my the money witch is the best part. Yeah i work for Frances on saterday to so im working 6 days a week. So im pretty much doing good work wise and working on actully building a bank roll. its been about 7 weeks at the new gig and after the 90 day mark i should be looking good just in time for you to give elgin a visit, one time. You are turning into a lenged, the man named dan who once lived in america, and went to nothern il. grew up at borden court and had pretty good b-ball game for a white guy. Dont know if any of this will hold up but i have just heard that the two greatest bands of all time are coming out with new albums this Year.First TooL says to be releasing a album in may, called 10,000 days. and its to be heavy couse they hate the president. and the other one is tuning into a life long joke that some of us will also laugh and enjoy to hear. GUNS AND ROSES IS RELEASING THERE ALBUM THIS YEAR, HUH. And mancow tells me its a 3 disc set. Big year, shit if this really happens well, it will be good, i mean Really good. thats about it nothing special, still single no luck yet meeting my supermodel but shes close i can feel it. keep drinking and having good times.haller

Damn, it's good to read your type. I thought you'd forgot all about me, or at least forgot how to use a computer. GOod shit on the job, I was planning on setting you up like a Gangsta when I got home, but it sounds like you're doing fine on your own. I may have to start dropping more stories now that I know you're reading again. Hey, that's real good news about the TOOL. I didn't know about that. I do havea GNR update though, a real one. Axl's been making music and I've heard some of it. There's a demo that got out on the web somehow. You should be able to download it, Chinese Democracy demo. Some of the songs are just the new ones they were playing live, but their are some brand new demo songs. You can tell from the quality that they're not finished and Axl probably won't put them on the album now that we've hearde them, but they're fuckin good. Find that shit and tell me what you think. If you say Axl's still got it, then maybe he will become God again. holla back

Damn dude, there are some duds on that bill, but there are some bombshows as well. As always, I will put aside my jealousy as long as you give me details about the show. I want to know all about the return of TOOL. The light show, Maynard's outfits/speeches, the new material and the crowd's response. Fuck, Minn. Road Trip #1 was a good time. And you got two real people coming along (Benny,Steinnuts) so they can foot the bill for everything. Have fun with Madonna, I know it's a dream come true.
